| So yesterday I was a nervous wreck. Today I feel like the sky turned as blue as can be and the sun is brighter then it's ever been, even though its overcast outside! Watching the Penguins do what they do beast and pick apart the Caps was a great moment in NHL history. I still can not fully comprehend how that happened but I'll review the game so I can have a deeper understanding, and because I just want to see it again! Crosby came alive with a force only few in the game have and his performance and leadership was outstanding. Staal came through as the clutch player he is and Malkin put up two assists that helped the team to victory. The fact that Adams and Letang contributed was huge and you can't ask for more from our defense. Having Sergei (the Sarge) Gonchar back I think helped give them a surge they needed. He may not have played at 100%, but it always feels good to have an important player like that come back for you! Now to Dan Bylsma, what a coach! In February I was a down in the dumps fan. Watching my boys get to the Cup finals last year then watching them fall from grace was a hard pill to swallow. I seriously was hoping they would stay away from the playoffs so they could regroup and get things back together for next season. Then the Pens went and hired Bylsma and my hopes were lifted again. He turned the Pens around in one clean sweep and made them a contender. He never wavered when they lost game six and he went home and got a good nights sleep. Whatever it was that he said or did to them Wednesday morning needs to be bottled up and sold to all sports teams because they were amazing. Thank you sir, and congratulations on making the Eastern Finals. We have now sent the Flyers and the Caps on summer vacation. Let's hope we can keep this streak alive and do the same to either Carolina or Boston. The black and gold Penguins are the "Emperor's" on the ice right now and they keep my hopes and my season alive. LET'S GO PENS!!! |
